Aspire Building Contractors was founded in 2019 by Alastair Wilson and Ben Townsend
The two friends had worked together for many years in the construction industry for various employers, but decided in 2019 that the time was right to set-up on their own, as they felt the local market needed a new high-end builder to address the lack of top quality contractors that were operating in the sector.

Alastair Wilson
Alastair is highly experienced, fully trained carpenter, and an accredited City & Guilds Master Craftsman.
Ally's journey in construction began with a carpentry apprenticeship, where he developed a strong foundation in craftsmanship, precision, and attention to detail. That hands-on experience continues to shape the way we approach every project today.
As Aspire has grown over the years, Ally's role has naturally evolved from working on the tools to overseeing projects and managing client relationships. While he still has a deep passion for the build process, he now focuses on ensuring each project runs smoothly from concept to completion.
Communication is something Ally genuinely enjoys and takes great pride in. Building strong relationships with our clients is central to how we work. We believe that clear, honest, and consistent communication is what creates trust, confidence, and ultimately successful projects.

Outside of work, Ally has a young family who he loves spending time with — something that keeps him grounded and reinforces the importance of creating homes that truly work for modern family life.
Ben Townsend
Ben is an expert at managing turn key construction projects from tendering to completion, and particularly specialises in 'Passivhaus' new builds.
Ben is a co-owner of Aspire Building Contractors and brings a practical, detail-focused approach to every project the company undertakes.
With many years of experience working across residential and commercial construction, Ben has built a reputation for being approachable, reliable, and meticulous in his work.
He is closely involved from the early planning stages through to completion, ensuring each project is delivered to a high standard and in line with the client’s expectations.
Ben believes that good building starts with clear communication, honest advice, and careful attention to detail — values that underpin Aspire’s way of working.
